The closest substitutes are general meme generators like Imgflip and dedicated avatar tools like Picrew, but neither does automated facial landmark positioning, so there's a real gap in friction reduction. The $500–2k/mo ceiling reflects the core problem: this is a one-and-done use case for most users, making subscription revenue hard to justify and per-generation pricing too low-value to collect, so the realistic model is probably a one-time purchase or freemium with a thin premium tier. The biggest risk is that the audience is almost entirely casual and impulse-driven — they make the emoji once, share it, and never return, which makes any kind of retention-based growth nearly impossible.
