Outage anxiety spikes every time a major title goes down, and with gaming hitting record engagement numbers post-pandemic, the search volume around "is X down" remains consistently high — Downdetector already captures some of this but does a poor job with game-specific context like maintenance windows or region-specific degradation. Downdetector is the closest incumbent, though it's generic and not optimized for gaming UX or push notifications. The $500–2k/mo revenue band is realistic but ceiling-limited: monetization likely depends on ads or a freemium notification tier, neither of which scales well without massive traffic, and CPMs for gaming audiences on utility pages tend to be low. The biggest risk is that the major studios — Riot, Epic — already publish their own status pages and increasingly push updates through in-game messaging and social channels, which shrinks the gap this product is trying to fill.
