Prompt management is a genuine pain point right now as vertical AI companies scale past their founding engineers and start hiring domain experts who own the actual knowledge but can't touch the system. PromptLayer and Langfuse handle versioning for technical users but neither is built around the workflow of a non-engineer proposing, reviewing, and deploying changes without touching a terminal. The $3k–15k MRR band makes sense for early-stage vertical AI startups where a single broken prompt can be a compliance or liability issue — there's real willingness to pay for auditability. The biggest risk is that most of these startups solve this with a simple Notion doc or a thin internal tool and never feel enough pain to buy a dedicated product, keeping the addressable market smaller than the trend suggests.
