Interbase – Multi-Model AI Agent Orchestration

Developers are locked into using only frontier AI models for long-running agent workflows. Interbase is an open-source CLI tool that lets you run persistent agent tasks on any model, not just GPT-4 or Claude. Target users are developers building AI agents who want flexibility and cost efficiency.

The AI agent tooling space is genuinely crowded right now, with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and increasingly capable native SDKs from Anthropic and OpenAI all competing for the same developer workflow. No single incumbent owns multi-model agent orchestration cleanly, but LangChain is the closest substitute and already has massive mindshare despite its complexity tax. Revenue band is unknown for good reason — CLI tools with an open-source core almost never monetize predictably, and the path to a paid tier (hosted orchestration, team features, enterprise contracts) requires a second product decision that many maintainers never make. The biggest risk is commoditization: model providers are actively shipping their own agent frameworks and cross-model routing is a thin abstraction that becomes irrelevant the moment one frontier model dominates cost-performance curves again.
