Streaming fragmentation is real — fans genuinely miss releases when artists drop exclusives on Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or regional platforms that Spotify's own notification system ignores. Last.fm and Muspy have offered adjacent functionality for years, making this a solved-but-poorly-maintained space rather than a greenfield one. The $500–2k/mo revenue ceiling reflects the core problem: music fans are notoriously unwilling to pay for tooling, and the addressable audience of people who care enough *and* will open their wallet is small.
