The prompt engineering craze peaked around 2022–2023, and marketplaces like PromptBase already captured early demand, making a new entrant a late mover in a space that's arguably shrinking as models get better at interpreting vague instructions. PromptBase is the direct incumbent and it hasn't exactly scaled into a household name, which signals limited ceiling rather than an open market. The $500–2k/mo revenue band is realistic but low, and getting there requires both supply-side contributors and demand-side buyers who trust that curated prompts outperform their own tinkering — a harder sell every month as frontier models improve. The core risk is obsolescence: if GPT-5 or Claude 4 class models make prompt precision largely irrelevant, the entire value proposition evaporates faster than the business can pivot.
