Social RSS Reader
A social RSS reader that recreates the FriendFeed experience for following feeds from friends and communities. Combines RSS with social discovery. Target users are RSS enthusiasts and people who want a social content discovery alternative to algorithm-driven feeds.
RSS has seen a genuine resurgence since Twitter's 2023 deterioration pushed power users toward open protocols, and Mastodon's growth proves there's appetite for decentralized, algorithm-free social layers. Feedbin and NewsBlur are the closest incumbents but neither has meaningfully cracked the social graph problem — they're still solo reading experiences. The $500–3k/mo revenue band is realistic but also the ceiling: RSS enthusiasts are a vocal but small cohort, and converting free users to paid is historically brutal in this category. The deepest risk is that the people who want this badly enough already cobbled together a solution with existing tools, leaving a market that's loud on Twitter but too small to sustain even a solo founder.
