Sports Data RAG/MCP Server
A pre-built MCP server with historical and upcoming sports match data (49k+ results) that developers can plug into Claude or other agents for sports analytics and research. Target users are developers building sports apps, analysts, and sports enthusiasts using AI.
MCP adoption is accelerating fast following Anthropic's push to standardize tool use in agentic workflows, and sports data is a natural fit because the query patterns (scores, standings, historical matchups) are highly structured and repetitive — exactly what RAG handles well. The closest substitutes are raw sports data APIs like SportsRadar or API-Football, but those require developers to build their own retrieval and context-formatting layer, which is the friction being removed here. Revenue band is genuinely unclear because the pricing model is unresolved — selling access to an MCP server could work as a subscription, but developer-facing data tools often get undercut by free tiers or scraped alternatives fast. The biggest risk is commoditization: sports data is not proprietary, and once a few open-source MCP server templates exist for common sports APIs, the barrier to replication drops to near zero.
