Tatami – macOS Tiling Workspace Manager

Apple's Stage Manager experiment showed there's genuine appetite for rethinking macOS window organization, and the Sequoia window tiling feature — while useful — is basic enough to leave power users wanting more. Yabai is the most capable incumbent but requires disabling SIP or accepting degraded functionality, which is a real barrier for developers on managed corporate machines; Mango and Magnet occupy the simpler end but lack serious tiling logic. The $2k–10k/mo revenue band is plausible given that developer-focused utilities like Raycast and Cleanshot have normalized $8–15/mo subscriptions in this audience, though the ceiling is real — this is a solo-license market with no team or seat expansion. The single biggest risk is Apple: every macOS release reshapes the private APIs and accessibility permissions that tiling managers depend on, and one Sequoia-style native feature drop can erase the product's core value proposition overnight.
