Topolog – DAG-Based Project Planning

Users write plans in a simple DSL and automatically get multiple views with computed deadlines. Targets managers and teams tired of switching between tools.

DAG-based thinking is having a real moment thanks to data engineering tooling like Airflow and dbt normalizing dependency graphs for technical users, which creates a plausible bridge to project management for developer-adjacent teams. Linear is the closest substitute for that audience, though it doesn't expose a dependency graph as the core primitive—most tools bolt on dependencies as an afterthought. The $2k–10k/mo band is realistic for a niche B2B tool with per-seat pricing, but it requires landing teams rather than individuals, which raises CAC and extends sales cycles. The biggest risk is that the DSL is the product's own enemy—most managers won't write plans in code, and the technical users who will are already cobbling something together in Notion or a spreadsheet and tolerating the friction just fine.
