Revenue is the core problem: heavy YouTube consumers skew toward people who resist paying for anything adjacent to free content, so converting them past a free tier is an uphill fight, and the revenue band is effectively unknown because nobody has cracked monetization here convincingly. The biggest risk is that YouTube quietly improves its own subscription UX — or that PocketTube already captures everyone willing to install a third-party tool — leaving no viable wedge.
