Acquisition marketplaces are seeing real tailwind as the bootstrapped SaaS wave matures — thousands of solo-founder products built 2018–2023 are now hitting natural exit points, and buyers have capital but no clean discovery layer. MicroAcquire (now Acquire.com) is the obvious incumbent and has already validated the category, which is both encouraging and the core problem: competing against a funded, established brand means differentiation has to be sharp, whether that's tighter vetting, a niche vertical, or better seller trust signals. The $2k–10k/mo revenue band is plausible if the model leans on listing fees or success fees, but deal volume in this space is lumpy and thin — a bad month with no closed deals means near-zero revenue. The most likely failure mode is the cold-start problem: buyers won't pay for access without inventory, and sellers won't list without buyers, and Acquire.com already owns that network effect.
